If you are referred for talking therapy (IAPT)
For talking therapy (IAPT), you will discuss the number of sessions needed at your initial appointment. Some therapy is delivered 1:1, some in groups. 1:1 can be face-to-face, via Skype or via live text conversation. There is also an online support platform called SilverCloud where you undertake modules individually and have online check-ins with a therapist. Length of session, types of therapy and duration of treatment are evidence based and determined by your needs. You will book a regular time for your appointments and be sent reminders via text. If you don’t find the therapy is helping you, the therapist will help you explore other options. You will receive a call three months post-discharge to find out how you are doing, and you can return in the future if you need more support.
